You're the blog. Some say your personal blog is about you. Mostly yes, but actually, the blog is you (the blog thinks, moves, feels and writes), it's your person There's you and you write about things. As you blog and discover its meaning and importance, you realize it's not just blogging anymore--your story is being re-told and later re-created by you. So that soon there's the new you. Because you're the blog.
Why Blog?
In the early 2000s, this was a valid question. Today, in 2024, it's what folks with a message will naturally do--any message they have, whether inspirational, motivational, or what have you. It's a powerful way of putting a message across to the next generation or leaving one behind. It can even be a way of repairing broken lives, relationships, failures, shortcomings--anything that you want to have a second chance at doing again. And failures in careers or business perhaps, that you want to warn other people about?

Then you see the hope of getting a second chance at life by re-writing it. There's that effect when you get the hang of it. You create a world. And that means hope. It's definitely more than day dreaming. It's putting things together aright in a more concrete way--first in your mind--and then you write everything there on your blog. Dreaming is solo viewing. Dreaming stays in the mind. You alone see what you're rebuilding. But with blogging, you share the dream and make them see it. It's as real as you are because you're the blog.
Slog Bhop will help you do it. Slog Bhop is another way of looking at blogging. And we have provided a Blog Shop for it--Slog Bhop--so you can blog your small business. You may have realized the value of putting your business online and saw the need for a blog. You probably first thought of creating a website but it's too formal and too big, and figured a smaller one--a blog--is right for you. But you don't know where to begin. Like I was in 2002, you probably don't even know what a blog is. You just know you need it.
Almost all of us dream of re-living our lives and setting things right where we failed or erred. If only we can live our lives all over again we'd make amends because now that we know where the mistakes are, we can re-do them right. The problem is, we cannot go back in time--or so we think. Blogging makes this possible, not just with life, family and relationships but with business and career. You can start your business all over again and make things right, if not better.

What's a Blog?
A blog is a log of thoughts, ideas, events, situations, learnings, information, tips, etc. that you want to keep a record of and share to people. Well, it's usually shared, though you may keep one in private. It's like a diary (meant as a strictly private record) and a journal (meant to share with people) written informally by an individual who likes doing it. It's not just a hobby, it's a mission, which is to convey a message. Blogs often complement a website to make the site more personal and less rigid. It's a way of connecting the company with people--clients and prospects.
I love blogs more than websites. Websites always have a sad tone to it and even its blogs sound boring. You can't laugh there or tell jokes. You cannot be yourself. But a personal blog is different. It's more liberating and lets you be you. The best thing is, using personal blogs as your business blogs puts blogging on a higher level. It's like you in your own shop or store selling to people yourself and being friends with them, developing relationships.
Vlogging
I quickly add here what vlogging is, because most people mistake blogging for vlogging, and vice versa. Vlogging is the use of videos for conveying messages. Blogging is about writing articles. While vlogging requires more work, creativity and gadgets, blogging is more challenging today because very few people like to read articles. They all love watching videos. Videos easily and quickly convey messages. But with blogging, you need real writing skills, skills in crafting words (copywriting), empathy, imagination, creativity and deep life experiences.
Blogging has a worthy mission, and that is to rekindle the love of reading in people, especially the young, because mental development and sharpness are possible only with reading, not watching videos. If you decide to be a devoted blogger, you'll make a positive difference in the lives of your readers, and who knows, perhaps help change the world. But as a blogger, you also have to devote yourself to reading and researching, a lot.
Come to think of it. Life was created through the Word. Now you re-create it with words through blogging. And the blog (you) was life and dwelt among men. You are that blog. God breathed the Word and formed life in Adam. You type the word and form life in the blog and in your readers. You're the blog, as God is the Word. So, always drop by the blog shop, Slog Bhop.
