Get a Paid Website or Settle for a Free One?

If you're a growing or big company, definitely you need your own paid website. An industrial sage once said any business not found online is not in business at all. He probably meant it's not doing business and making profits as it should. The advent of the Net has revolutionized the business world and has made going online compulsory. In this sense, the best option is to get a paid website.

Free websites are for small or starting businesses. If you're new to online stuff and you just want to try out things online, you often start with free sites. I recommend a free blog site. Blogs are perfect for small businesses, especially if they're trying online selling and marketing for the first time. And free blog sites can give you a "feel" of what it's like. Then later you can opt for a paid one if things go well. Others want to start outright with a paid website or blog, and it's also good if you're ready to risk it that far at once.

Free or Paid, Content is What Matters

Others get a paid site and have others manage it for them, like freelance web content writers and managers. I can do this for you if you need my services. Just fill up the contact form below. I can do both personal and small business blogs for a fee. I can build the blogsite and provide regular blog articles. Fresh articles posted daily are very important to keep your blog active in directories and search engines. Most importantly, if you have an email list or regular readers on your social media account, your small business is greatly helped if you post new, interesting and relevant articles on your feed everyday for friends and followers to see. It gives them the impression that you're an expert on the subkect, always present online and therefore reliable and trustworthy.

There are paid websites from about $5 to $30 to $100 plus a month. Wordpress offers some as low as $30 a year (I thnk) as of this writing. Slog Bhop recommends that you window shop for various site providers for a while before making a final decision. Anyway, you can always transfer your free blog to a paid one anytime. My recommendation is start with a free blog. If it works and gains following, start a paid one and regularly promote it on your free blog. Provide a link to a post in it (but never use the word "click" or "link" on your article). Keep your free blog as you develop your paid website or blog. To me, it's important to retain your free blog. Why? I'll explain in a later article.

What Site Provider to Choose

How do you know what site provider to choose? Here are some tips: Choose one that offers unlimited bandwidth and disk space, very user friendly control panel and admin, free site builder, with numerous free templates with simple and multi features, script installs, full support system, with affiliate opportunities, and with money-back offer, to name a few.

Many free websites offer you a dot com URL if you switch to their upgraded option. Like Blogspot. It has an option to get you your own paid blog found on the publishing page under the Settings option. It's their way of marketing their website hosting services--first you try it for free and then you may opt to buy it as your own if the blog works. You learn to build your own paid website and manage it through their web and blog tips.

With your own paid website you launch your business internationally better and faster. You get worldwide audience for your array of products and even provide video demos. Your website works for you 24/7 and never takes vacation or gets sick. It works hard for you while you sleep, selling for you in other parts of the world where there's daylight. If it's already selling, your blog will make you money as you sleep or take vacation.

Advantages of Paid Websites

The advantage of a paid website over free ones is the features. The features help you present your business well and be more profitable. It also gives your business a good image. Dot com URLs evince prestige and financial capability. Also, your site won’t have to have ads you cannot control. With paid sites, you decide what ads show on your blogs or websites. If you need to project authenticity, then get your own paid site. You'd see how your visitor meter starts to roll faster.
